All Inclusive

For those of you wondering, this is what it looks like to walk in a wind gale:

Photo taken by my husband on his mobile @ 11pm...
Yeah, those are downed trees, huddled together for warmth.

Gusts were up to 100 km/hr, in case you're interested. When I walked home, at about 7 pm, I almost got blown over on a street corner, waiting for the light to change. My face was actually scratched up from blowing snow mixed with salt.

Ah, winter.

  1. Stay warm Kristen -- I recommend lots of knitting (and maybe the occasional bra-making):) We've had very strange weather down here in SOCAL -- I'll post some unusual surf photos.

    1. Thanks P! No bra making! I need simple! And don't make me jealous with California surf - even weird surf :-)

  2. What were you guys doing out walking around at that hour, in that weather?!?

    1. OK, I wasn't there at 11. I was home. And I took the bus after I almost got knocked over by wind - as soon as it drove by. I sure didn't wait for it. Scott is a bit of a daredevil who believes that if it's good to walk home in June, it's good in January. I think that's his excuse.

  3. It was certainly ugly. I took a header on Dundas... fun times.

  4. You went out in that? I'm going to be posting some pretty snow pictures later today.

  5. Good grief. I'm not complaining about the gloom any more!

    1. Ha! Believe it or not, it's not gloomy. It's bitter and frigid and a bit scary, but gloom doesn't really factor. Gloom, however, is very difficult to handle. Worse than this, in truth.

  6. What? So glad I missed this. Although it's cold in Maine as well (but no wind) and I'm back in TO tomorrow for more polar vortex. I'm so done with this winter. So. Done.

    1. Yeah, you probably chose a good weekend to get out of here. Did you get back on time or were you delayed?
